 Same Sex Marriages

The bill to implement the Civil Partnership Bill within the Social Welfare system passed through the final stages of Goverment approval on friday 17th of December 2010 and same sex couples will now be able to apply from early January 2011 with a three month notice period of their intention.

It is understood the HSE registra will be able to legally register a same sex couple at approved venues and I am delighted to say that we have been approved.

There is no actual ceremony involved and its a case of a couple signing an agreement in the presence of the registrar, indicating their desire to register as being partners. Ireland is now the perfect Same Sex Destination Wedding Location for the first time.094-9023249

What is a Same Sex Civil Wedding Ceremony?
A Civil Wedding Ceremony is a legally approved marriage ceremony that contains no religous aspects.

What do we need to do to have our Same Sex Civil Ceremony at the Pontoon Bridge Hotel?
The first step the wedding couple must take is to apply for approval to the Health Service Executive Civil Registration office. Our Local Civil Registration office is based in Castlebar Tel (094) 9023249
Please note that the Same  Sex civil ceremonies are only held midweek
Monday-Friday they do not operate on Saturdays or Sunday
Approval is granted to each individual marriage on a case by case basis and is determined by a member of the Health Services Executive Registration office. A member of this team will meet the wedding couple and review their application. When they are satisfied with the hotel and the wedding couple meet their requirements approval is then granted.

How long in advance should we apply?
Applications should be made to the Civil Registration office at least three months before the wedding, however it is advisable to apply as far in advance as possible to guarantee requested dates.. You can check with the Pontoon bridge Hotel for available dates before meeting with the registrar. Once you have met with the registrar you will be given a declaration forms for which the hotel will have to sign for you and the hotel. Will adhere to the standards set by the Civil registration office.

There is a notification fee of €150. Which must be paid at the first meeting with the member from the Civil Registration office.

There is also a charge of €24.45 an hour for the registrar on the day of the ceremony.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
